Journey of Gratitude and Thanksgiving

I would like to dedicate a poem that I wrote to All my Family and Friends, both old and new, for all you have done and all that you do...THANK YOU...with all my heart!!

There comes a day when you stop to look back on the memories of the people you are grateful for-
Heros in your eyes for one reason or another...
And you remember all of the sweet little acts of kindness that they've shared with you...
Never imagining what an impact they've made on your life, or how much they really mean to you,
Knowing neither how much gratitude swells in your heart for them or even able to see what they've done for you...
Something that words cannot express and thoughts cannot say, something so great that it leaves you breathless...
Grasping for the best way to show or tell them just how much they mean to you!
Invisible to their own sight are the blessings that their friendship alone has done for you...
Virtually inexplainable -the feeling that continues building inside of you as all of the different emotions circle about until
Inspiration has nowhere left to turn...and then without the slightest blink of an eye,
Not even a whisper of thought, a word pops into your mind...
GRATITUDE!

Journey of the Sleeping "Bubby"

Feb.'08-So tiny and precious!! Sept.'08-Spanky's sleepy twin...
Nov.'08-It's a good thing he isn't behind the wheel! ...

Nov. 25th, 2008

Yesterday (Nov. 25th) after Daniel left for class I took a little nap, then got up & ready for the day, worked on the apartment/dishes, etc (doesn't take much, lol). Then Krista picked me up and I got to go hangout with her while she made Fudge and baked cookies...We teased Angie when she showed up because she came just as Krista was pulling the cookies out of the oven! lol...Good timing! We had a good time visiting...Angie & Krista worked on their quilts while I worked on another project.
Krista sent some cookies home with both Angie & I!...They were YUMMY!!!-Thank You Krista!! ;-)
Daniel got home shortly after I did and we went to the Commisary to get some groceries afterwhich, we walked around at the NEX lookin' at jackets and books...mostly just lookin', lol.
Then we came home, had some Pizza and I did a few things on the computer while Daniel studied (He had a test today (the 26th) which he did good on!).
Bell came over again, so we played a few card games with him...Rummy & Egyptian Rat Killer...When he left, we went to bed.

Nov. 18th-24th, 2008

Tuesday, Nov. 18th-
I made Grandma Posey's Shel-roni Casserole...It tasted much better than it looked lol...but took the pic anyway...you know me ;-) pictures and being random are both fun...
...and of course I couldn't resist the sunset picture!...After dinner, I baked some more bread and rolls, then desided to make Fry Bread! ...mmm it was gooooood!! :-D ...heehee We finished it off within an hour!!...lol, so much for savin' some for lunch the next day. ..oh well, Food is good! Couldn't Resist! :-)

Wednesday, Nov. 19th-
Tonight, Krista, Heidi and I were the only ones that showed up for the "Wednesday Night get together," but we had fun anyway! Krista quilted while Heidi scrap-booked and we all just visited! Afterwards, Krista invited me to go with her and Angie "fabric shopping" in the morning...Of course I was excited to get to go hang out with them, so I gratefully accepted the invite!
Thursday, Nov. 20th-
Krista, Angie and Krista's cute little girl (Isabella) picked me up around 9:30 am and we went Fabric shopping... I love hanging out with them because they are so upbeat and fun! (all the friends I've made here are)-They're SOOO fun! It was a blast! As we were leaving the Fabric store, we saw a gas station that had it's price down to $1.69!!!-NO JOKE! Awesome huh!!
When I got home, I dinkered around the apartment for awhile, did some reading, took a nice long nap (lol, about 3 hrs!) and woke up just before Daniel got home...He was late gettin' home because he had to finish up some stuff on Base.
When he got home, since it was our 2 Month Anniversary, we went and got some movies-The Golden Compass, Definately Maybe, No Reservations and Sydney White. We also picked up a few snacks and dinner (KFC) then came back to the apartment for a movie night.
Bell came over during the 2nd movie and watched it with us btu left just before it was over. We watched one more movie then went to bed.

Friday, Nov. 21st- It was snowing most of the day, but it was a wet snow, so it didn't stick. Still love the sunsets...then again, I will ALWAYS love sunsets/sunrises!
The Missionaries (from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) came over for a friday night Home Evening inwhich we'd invited a couple of Navy friends over and the Missionaries gave a lesson, then we played "PIT" ...
Starting with Daniel, going Clockwise: Lucero, Jake, Elder Keller and Elder Conlin.
I had baked some rolls and shared some with "The Guys,"...They each had 3-4! Lucero asked if I'd teach him how to make them the way I did because he liked them so much that he wanted to make some for his famiy when he goes home for Christmas!
...Stef called while we were playing, so I excused myself and had a fun visit with her!! -since we haven't seen eachother since last December when she got married!!
All-in-all, we had a blast!!
Saturday, Nov. 22nd- We ran errands-went to the Library, got a few things from the store, stopped at the Post Office, then came back and hung out at the apartment...I was working on a protrait of Heidi's little boy (William) because it was Heidi's birthday and that's what I thought about doing for her...and Daniel studied!
At 7:00 pm I went to Heidi's birthday party, and got to hang out with her, Sean (her husband), Tamille and William...There was also Cheese fondu, a veggie tray, cake and a chestnut rapped in bacon that we dipped in BBQ Sauce...It was SOOO good!! I had a blast hangin' out with them!

Sunday, Nov. 23rd- At church, after Sacrement Meeting, the Sister sitting infront of us turned around and asked if we were Newly Wedds to which I admited happily that we are. (2 mo's now! heehee) She then introduced herself as Lisa and said, "I can tell!...You should stay that way Always!...My husband and I have been married for 20 years and we still are, it's great!"
"Yeah, it is! :-) ...." I replied, then she continued by saying, (as she pointed out another sweet sister and her cute family) "That's why they have six kids! ;-)" ...She is definately a cute and lively Sister!-Loads of fun!
I LOVE This ward!!...and This place! They are both filled with fun/sweet/friendly people!
After Church we came home and relaxed while we watched a movie and the sunset.
Then around 4:30-ish pm we took Lucero to Norfolk because he needed a ride to Burlington Coat Factory...I took the next 4 pic's on the way there...
...Once we got there, and since it was Sunday and we don't normally buy stuff on sundays, Daniel and I walked around lookin' at stuff...I had him try on this hat just for kicks...it was fun....Lucero saw it and told him, "he could pull it off if it wasn't too big for him."
Personally I think he looks good anyway! But I'm not prejudice or anything, heeehee, I just know what I'm talkin' about when it comes to my good lookin' hunky dunky Hubby!!! ;-D Heehee, He's just so darn cute!! :-)

Picture Tag

I didn't take this picture, lol, I wasn't even with them when it was taken! ...I got this pic awhile ago from Colleen (my Sis-in-law) before Daniel and I were even dating ("just friends"). It was taken in December 2007 when Daniel visited Blanding and his family was taking him to Phx to fly back to Georgia-As you can see, it's a pic of Daniel and his mom in a McD's.
...I love them both...TONS!!

I was looking at one of my friends' blogspots, and she put a "Picture Tag" on it in which she said, "I now tag Everyone of my favorite bloggers and anyone else who wants to do this." So, I decided to do it too!...and now I TAG YOU! If you choose to do it, it's the 5th picture in your 3rd folder. ;-)

Nov. 14th & 15th

Daniel is so sweet! Friday (th 14th) after we dropped the missionaries off at their place, he told me that he wanted "to treat me," so we went to IHOP for dinner!! After dinner we came home and watched "P.S. I Love You." We had a good evening!-Oh, and our visit with the missionaries was fun, the person we had invited over to meet with them didn't come though...but that's ok. We invited him as well as some other people over for this coming friday, because we're going to have "Family Home Evening" friday and let the missionaries do a quick lesson then we're gonna play some games...hopefully this time they'll come...(our friends that are investigators) Anywho, I'll letcha know how that goes in that blog. ;-)

Nov. 15th-
When we first woke up, it was raining so much that there was hardly any cars on the road, but it wasn't really that cold...It's different out here, because when it rains alot or snows even just an inch (if even that), they shut everything down!..Definately not like back home lol!! But I/We Love it here! ...
We went shopping in the afternoon, at a couple different places, got some gas (filled the tank up completely for only $1.87 a gal.!!!) Then we came home and I started to mix up dough for rolls, a loaf of bread and some stromboli (Grandma Posey's Recipe!) While the dough was rising, the first time, I baked Cheesecake Bluberry Muffin Cake (got it in the oven anyway) and made some BBQ Chicken on our George Foreman Grill for lunch with a side of spinich!
Just as we finished making/eating lunch, the muffin cake finished baking, so I took it out to cool. It was then time to punch the dough down to let it rise for the second time, so I did that, and Daniel came in and wanted to help...we then decided to go for a walk while the dough was rising that time...We had a nice walk, the rain had stopped and didn't start up again til after we had made it back home. (It had bounched back and forth between nice/rainy and nice/sunny all day!...It was 73 degrees outside!! I LOVED IT!! :-D
Upon arriving back at home, I went to work in the kitchen again, getting ready to put some dough in the bread pan and some dough on the cookie sheet for rolls...Daniel can in and started helping me, It was fun workin in the kitchen together!!!
While we waited for the bread and rolls, we watched the sunset...
When the rolls and loaf of Bread were done, I put the Stromboli in the oven...Daniel had NEVER even heard of strombli!! ..He said he liked it!! :-) Here's a pic of the rolls and loaf of bread (minus the few rolls that we'd already eaten)...THANK YOU GRANNY FOR THE COOK BOOK!!! I Love it!!...and so does Daniel!! ;-)

Nov.7th & 9th, 2008

Nov. 7th -Bell & Daniel playin' cards (We were playing Skip-bo)...

Nov. 9th-
Church was great again!!...Always is!! It was the Primary Program...they did a SUPER job! I told Daniel that I love listening to kids sing...and everything else they do for that matter-other than temper tantrums that is, lol. ;-)
We saw the missionaries again, they came over and shook our hands...they are a fun set of missionaries...good personalities, One is from Idaho-He's been out for 5 months now, the other is from Nevada and has been out for over a year.
In Relief Society I got to sit by Sister Fly (Bishop's Wife), and sitting to the left of her was Bishops Sister Rhonda and their sweet mom Minnie!...We Sister Fly, Rhonda & I had a fun visit after the meeting, and when Minnie was done visiting with the other sisters, she shared her warm smile and greeting with me again!
I stopped to tell Scottie what a good job she did on the lesson and exchanged hugs...she's a cute/sweet sister too! Then Patti came and exchange greetings/hugs too!
When we got in the car to come home, Daniel told me that he has the lesson next sunday in Priesthood meeting!...I asured him that he'll do a good job because he's such an awesome guy! ;-)
...I Love It Here!! -We both do!! We both love the ward too!! :-)

When we got home, he ironed his Uniforms while I started drawing a portrait of my Papaw (it's posted as "Journey Through Art- A Portrait of 'Papaw'."

There was a beautiful sunset that evening!...They always are (for more, see Our post, "Sunsets from our 5th floor Balcony")...but they still cannot compare to the beautiful sunsets painted on the red rock cliffs or across the Blue Mtns back home! ;-)

I decided to take a break form the drawing for a bit and made some chocolate chip cookies!...THEY WERE YUMMY!!!

Just as I I finnished baking them, our friend Bell showed up, so we played cards...Rummy at first, then I showed them how to play Egyptian Rat Killer!! -They'd both played it before, but had forgotten until I showed them how to play...now it's played almost as much as Rummy! ;-)

Journey of the Toddler Kiss

This last August at a family reunion, my cousins little girl came up to my nephew putting her hands on either side of his head and kissed him!...I managed to get a picture of it and last night I decided to draw it...

Veterans Day- Nov, 11, 2008

First of all, we'd like to thank all who have served our country, all who are currently serving our country and especially all who have paid the ultimate price for our country!! We love this country!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Of course being the Holiday that it was, Daniel had the day off (other than a few hours of Flag Duty). After Daniel got home from Flag Duty, we invited our friend, Bell, to come with us to Applebees for the "Free Meal" that they had for the Veterans and Active Duty...Once we got there, Daniel made our reservation then since we had a 45 min wait, we walked across the street to the Mall where we found a Walden books store...heehee WE LOVE BOOKS!! When Daniel looked at the time again, we were almost late getting back to Applebees, lol, so we ran...
Needless to say, we made it back in time and were able to have dinner- Since Daniel wasn't hungery, he ordered the 9 oz. Steak with French Fries and Mixed Veggies for me and got himself a soda!...(He was spoiled after Flag Duty-and was Fed ALOT of food!)
After dinner, we went to Target (we had a gift card)-there we got a few movies, one was actually a quadrupple feature family comedy pack that had: "Kindergarten Cop," "Problem Child," "Major Payne," and "Kicking & Screaming."-Neither one of us has ever seen the last. We also got "P.S. I Love You," and "In The Name Of The King-A Dungeon Seige Tale" (Neither of us had ever before seen In the name of the King before, but we got it and really liked it!!)-We got ALL 6 movies together for a total of less than $33!-and it really didn't cost us a penny! ;-) heehee that was part of the fun in that...
When we finished watching In The Name Of The King, Daniel started reading in one of the books he got while I played Chess against the computer....IT CHEATS!! lol. I played a couple games, made some hot cocoa for both of us, then we hit the sack! Until next time, Keep Smiling! Life's Gr8! TTFN

Nov. 5th-A Good Rainy day! ;-)

I took this random photo of the rain hitting the windshield as I sat in my car waiting for Daniel to come out from class...

...Lol, Daniel is such a silly goose!...but that's only a small reason why I Love him!-He is an amazing guy!...LOL He's definitely A LOT like my Dad!!-I love it!! Later that evening, Daniel took me to the Church for a Relief Society "Scrap-booking/Quilting/Hangout night...I already "blogged" about that, so I wont go on again, although it was a BLAST! (Daniel sat just inside the main front doors of the building studying while I "partied..." Oh, and on the way into the building, I DANCED IN THE RAIN...it was FUN!!...Daniel & Sister Fly thought I was silly because I liked the fact that there was so much rain...lol!

Journey through Art- A Portrait of "Papaw"

I started this portrait of my "Papaw" (my Great Grandfather) last night and just finished it this morning! I love to draw! Portraits aren't always my favorite things to do, but I like to try them out every once in awhile. After finishing this portrait, I decided that when I do portraits, they usually look half photo/half cartoon or animated. My art teacher always got a kick out of watching me when I was working on a picture because I always try to keep my pictures looking "clean"(even while I'm still working on them)! Now, being a "lefty," I always ended up with smudges everywhere, but that's when the "cleaning" takes place...lol...I'd work for a bit on the picture, take a brake to "clean-up" the smudges, then back to work I would go.

Journeying through the day...11/07/08

Today I decided to be adventurous, so after lunch, I walked Daniel to the corner (he had to go back to class) and instead of going straight back home I wondered down the street a block or so, took these pictures along the way, then came back home...
The sun actually came out to play today!!...It's been windy and rainy for the last few days...but today, the sky is a light blue color with hints of white jet streams and a few clouds, looking out the window out across the city, far off in the distance you can see a thin light tan haze, from the smog, looming over the buildings...The temperature is just right and the atmosphere is calm, almost quiet other than the sound of the cars passing by, an occasional siren off in the distance (there's more sirens in the evenings/nights). It feels almost like spring!!...I love it!!Here's a random shot of a cute lil' Lady bug...I found it when I was out on the balcony enjoying the nice "fresh air"...as fresh as you can get in the city anyway, lol ;-)
...earlier this morning I went out on the balcony and watched the 3 little squirrels that hangout around here...it was as if they were playing hide-n-seek/tag...We call him "Hammy"...
I also got to visit with my Mom, Matt, Maggie and Ashton today, of course Ashton has more of an "uoo'ah'oo" sort of talk right now (I've only heard him actually jabber a couple times)...for some cute pics/recordings of him, go to: "Journeys with Bubby," listed under the October Blogs.
On top of everything else, (tidying up the front room, making lunch, gettin' ready for the day, etc etc) I've been reading "The Difference Maker" by John C. Maxwell (an excellent book!) and I finished the "Twilight" book by Stephenie Meyer...IT is a good Fiction book...fun to read...you cant help but to keep reading, turning the pages as it gets more and more interesting!
